Rescuers used a cell phone signal to locate a Belvidere man who was severely hurt in a horse-riding accident.
The 54-year-old man was rounding up cattle on Thursday morning in a remote part of Jackson County when his horse stepped in a hole and rolled on top of him.
Snow and ice limited rescuers efforts to find the man. So, Pennington County dispatchers used the signal from his cell phone to determine his location and sent a Life Flight helicopter to get him.
The man's name has not been released.
