A 23-year-old Twin Cities man has been convicted of having an illegal African drug in Lincoln County.
Tola Hassan was found guilty Friday of possessing and intending to distribute khat, a drug that contains a stimulant similar to meth. Hassan was caught trying to keep 200 pounds of the drug at a storage shed in Tea. It has a street value of $32,000.
Hassan will be sentenced December 1 and faces up to 20 years in prison.
