South Dakota's Health Department is confirming the state's second H1N1 flu-related death.  The patient, from Todd County, died this week.

The state is also seeing a surge in H1N1 cases enough for South Dakota's activity to now be classified as "widespread."  It's the highest step on the flu surveillance ladder.

Forty counties across South Dakota are now reporting H1N1 activity.  The latest numbers show 128 new cases last week.  That brings the year's total to 333.  Last week, four people were hospitalized with the virus.

And it seems the H1N1 flu isn't letting down on young people:  44 percent of the cases this year have been in kids 10 to 18 years old; 29 percent were in children under 10.

To see complete list of counties and cases visit the South Dakota Department of Health's Web site.
