The Annual Festival of Bands begins at 9:00 AM in downtown Sioux Falls. Parade route is along Main Avenue from 14th to 18th streets. Bands from the region will be heading out to show their stuff.
It's the Dakota Jeep Show today starting at 11:00 AM and running until 4:00 PM at Billion Dodge Jeep on 69th and Louise. Registration is at 10:00 AM with the cost being $15 per Jeep. There will be free food for everyone and prizes for entrants.
Learning how to care for kids? You can do just that at the Vermillion High School today from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Youth 11 to 15 years old are invited to come learn the skills to be a successful babysitter.
There's a Quilt Festival being held at the Codington County Extension Building in Watertown today. Doors open at 10:00 AM and will stay open until 4:00 PM. There will be hundreds of quilts on display and $3 gets you in the door.
Interested in trains? There's a model train open house running from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM today. Tickets are $5 for individuals and $10 for families. Purchase your tickets at Hobby Town starting at 10:00 AM and you will receive a map of the five homes that are transformed into train stations.
Walk Now For Autism is hosting a walk to raise funds at the Sioux Falls Stadium. Admission is free and walking starts at 10:00 AM.
It's a family fall festival start at 2:30 PM today at Lincoln Hills Bible Church. There'll be music games and rides. Cost is free.
The YMCA and Embrace are also sponsoring a Fall Festival from 4:30 to 8:30 PM at Leif Ericson Day Camp. Admission is free and there will be s'mores , campfires and inflatable.
Newton Hills is hosting a Festi-fall from 7:15 to 9:30 PM. It's a two mile candlelight walk. Follow the luminated pumpkins to make your way through the hills.
There'll be a free book signing featuring well-known cartoonist Chris Browne at Zandbroz Variety in downtown Sioux Falls. Browne is the creator of “Hagar the Horrible” and a Mad Magazine Illustrator. Cartoonist Dave Carpenter, Bob Hall, and Jim Allen will also be there. Signing starts at 2:00 PM and will run until 4:00 PM.
