A Hurley farmer, Darrin Ihnen, has become the new president of the National Corn Growers Association.

Ihnen also is a board director for the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council and is a past president of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association.

Ihnen was the national group's vice president and was a member of several committees.

He is the second South Dakotan to become National Corn Growers Association president. Lake Preston farmer Lynn Jensen held the position in 1999-2000.
