A man suspected of robbing banks in Redfield, Watertown and other cities is dead.

According to the Spink County States Attorney, 42-year-old James Krimm robbed a bank in Willeston, North Dakota last month. He led authorities on a chase into Montana and back into North Dakota again where he eventually shot and killed himself.

Evidence suggests he robbed the Redfield bank and others. But law enforcement is asking for the public’s help nailing down the case.

The man who walked into Redfield's Bank of the West last year and robbed it matches the physical description of Krimm and was wearing a mask like one found in Krimm's car.

"He's a very strong suspect in the case but I think that we need to keep an open mind on this and we need to lock down certain details," Spink County states attorney Vic Fischbach said.

Fischbach says Krimm had four vehicles registered in his name, including a 1999 white Buick LeSabre that matches one seen in Redfield at the time of the robbery there.

"We believe that those vehicles need to be located in order to determine whether there is additional physical evidence that's inside of those vehicles," Fishchbach said.

When authorities searched the vehicle near Williston they found a receipt from the Watertown area dated just before the robbery there.

Investigators in Spink County continue to follow leads as they look for more evidence and conclusion to a case that started March of last year.

"This is an ongoing investigation. We want to cross all of our t’s and dot all of our i's to make sure that this is a conclusory and thorough investigation on all the different robberies that occurred so we can bring closure to this," Fishchbach said.

Local, state and federal authorities have all been sharing information on these cases.
