Flags in South Dakota are to fly at half staff on Tuesday to honor a former state Representative and former state Secretary of Agriculture.  Governor Mike Rounds asks that flags be lowered from 8 a.m. until sunset in memory of Dean W. Anderson of Bryant, who died Thursday, September 17.

Anderson served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 1981-1989.  He was appointed as the state executive director of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and also served as South Dakota's Secretary of Agriculture from 1995-1997.

Anderson's funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Bryant.
