A Nebraska man has pleaded guilty to federal counterfeiting charges accusing him of trying to post bond
using fake $100 bills after an arrest in Spink County.

Spink County State's Attorney Vic Fischbach says deputies arrested Gary Sullivan, of Omaha, Nebraska during a traffic stop earlier this year after finding marijuana in the vehicle.

Fischbach says Sullivan tried to post bond, but authorities noticed the $100 bills he was using had the same serial number.

Sullivan pleaded guilty to counterfeiting in Mitchell and is awaiting sentencing.

Authorities say they believe Sullivan and another man spent nearly $200,000 in phony $100 bills in 45 states.
