Marty Jackley, who has served as U.S. attorney for South Dakota since 2006, is set to become the state's attorney general.

Jackley is scheduled to be sworn in at noon Friday in Sioux Falls.

South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds appointed Jackley to the constitutional office after Attorney General Larry Long was named a circuit court judge.

President Barack Obama has nominated Brendan Johnson, son of U.S. Senator Tim Johnson, to be the next U.S. attorney in South Dakota.
