The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly accident north of Kimball involving a horse.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday northwest of Kimball.

They say 18-year old Caleb Weber of Pukwana died when his 2004 Dodge Stratus hit a horse on the roadway.

The car crossed traffic and landed in the ditch. Weber died at the scene. It's unknown whether he was wearing a seatbelt. The horse was also killed.
