An Omaha-based company is buying two Nebraska ethanol plants formerly owned by VeraSun Energy of Sioux Falls.

AgStar Financial Services purchased the plants in Ord, Nebraska, and Central City, Nebraska during VeraSun's bankruptcy auction.  Now, Green Plains Renewable Energy of Omaha is buying them from AgStar for $123.5 million.  Green Plains has four other ethanol plants in Iowa, Indiana and Tennessee.

VeraSun filed for bankruptcy last October. Oil refiner Valero Energy later bought seven of VeraSun's ethanol plants.
