An Everly city councilman is facing marijuana possession charges after authorities say they found marijuana in his home. Forty-seven-year-old Stephen Rank was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators from the Clay County sheriff's office and other agencies found what they describe as significant amounts of marijuana in Rank's home in the small northwest Iowa town on Monday. Sheriff Randy Krukow says Rank's home has been part of an ongoing investigation.
Rank was released on $1,300 bond. Both charges are misdemeanors.
He was elected to a second-term on the Everly City Council in November 2007.
