Governor Mike Rounds has appointed Neil Fulton of Pierre as Chief of Staff. Fulton is currently a partner at the May, Adam, Gerdes & Thompson Law Firm in Pierre.

Rounds says, “Neil has the right combination of experience and enthusiasm. He is prepared to step into this very challenging position, having worked with our team in the past, serving as our legal counsel and as a registered lobbyist during the legislative session.”

Fulton says, “I am excited to work with Governor Rounds, helping the people of South Dakota.”

Fulton, 36, is a native of Miller, S.D. He received his B.A. from Yale University in 1994, and attended law school at the University of Minnesota where he received his J.D., summa cum laude and was class valedictorian.

Fulton replaces Rob Skjonsberg, who accepted a position with POET, a South Dakota-based ethanol company.
