The executive director of the South Dakota Retailers Association, Shawn Lyons, has been chosen as vice chairman of the Council of State Retail Associations.

The national group acts as a forum for the discussion of state and national legislation and regulations affecting the retail industry.

The 4,000-member South Dakota Retailers Association, based in Pierre, represents businesses who sell retail products and services throughout the state. It was founded in 1897.
