Starting Monday, Brown County officials will go door to door to see how much damage has been caused by flooding in Westport, Frederick and other areas that have had problems.
The county's emergency management director, Scott Meints, says about half the homes in Westport sustained damage. Meints says some homes in Frederick have damage on the first floor, not just in basements.
County officials will ask residents if they need shelter or clean-up kits.
The federal Farm Service Agency already is checking flooding on farmland northeast of Aberdeen. One flooded area is about five miles square.
