A Chicago couple have been found guilty of attempting to smuggle 100 pounds of high-potency marijuana through South Dakota.

Sean Harr and Alana Kolundzija were arrested in February on Interstate 90 near the Wyoming state line.

Lawrence County State's Attorney John Fitzgerald says the pot came from California and was being taken to Chicago.

He says the stash was valued at $500,000.

The Chicago couple were convicted on two counts each of marijuana possession and intent to distribute marijuana. They face up to 25 years in prison.

Fitzgerald says the pot will be destroyed once the time of appeals has expired.
