An attempt to arrest a Sioux Falls man on felony drug charges, led to a pursuit involving the highway patrol Thursday night.

When Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force tried to take in 26-year-old Samuel Nelson, he fled the area in his car.

The highway patrol joined the chase which later turned into a foot pursuit. Nelson was caught in a parking lot near North Star Lane in Eastern Sioux Falls.

He's now charged with felony eluding police, possession and distribution of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Nelson also had more than $6,400 in cash in his pockets along with a half ounce of cocaine and high-grade marijuana.

Authorities say more arrests are possible.
