Some travelers are stuck and unable to make it to their destinations. At the Summit truckstop off Interstate 29, there are about 80 people who are stranded and waiting out the storm.
"Everybody is just kind of sitting on the floor, camping out and marking their spot for the night. There are no hotels or bed and breakfasts even within a mile's drive, but that would be tough to just drive that mile," said Mike Brown who was on his way to Fargo, North Dakota for his daughter's college graduation.
Interstate 29 is closed from Brookings to the North Dakota border.
