Heavy snowfall and strong winds have prompted the closure of Interstate 29 between Brookings and the North Dakota border.

The Highway Patrol is sweeping the stretch of interstate to remove any drivers on it.  We will have the latest on KELOLAND News at 5, 6 and 10.

The following NO TRAVEL advisories are in effect:

Highway 14 from Wessington to the Minnesota border
Highway 212 from Redfield to the Minnesota border
Highway 12 from Summit to the Minnesota border

The advisory means "do not travel" and is considered the same as a road closure.
