A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to 50 months in prison for selling stolen baling twine to farmers and ranchers in South Dakota.

Thomas Alan Green of Shakopee, Minnesota, entered a guilty plea in December in a federal courtroom in Aberdeen to conspiring to transport stolen goods across state lines. Green admitted arranging the theft of more than $5,000 in twine from Dart Advantage Warehouse in Eagan, Minnesota, between 2000 and 2006 and selling it in South Dakota.

Green also must pay more than $165,000 in restitution.
