Long lines, early hours and great deals usually mean its Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. Now stores are opening earlier than ever and some are promoting sales starting on Thanksgiving Day.
Many people will be planning their shopping routes to ensure they hit every bargain buy Black Friday has to offer, but how do you make sure you get there at the right time? Despite the commercials and advertisements claiming that some stores will be open on Thanksgiving or early on Black Friday, that's not always the case in KELOLAND.
Many department stores will be opening their doors every day this week in hopes of spurring holiday sales.
Kmart will be open at 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving and 6 a.m. on Black Friday.
Shopko will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and at 5 a.m. on Friday.
Walgreens will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and re-open at 7 a.m. Friday.
Lewis plans to open on Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and again at 6 a.m. Black Friday.
Walmart will stay open all day.
In addition to those stores, Michaels is attempting to bring buyers in their doors early. They will open for four hours on Thanksgiving night from 5 to 9 p.m. and then re-open at 6 a.m. the next day.
Toys 'R Us is promising big deals for those willing to stand in line for midnight sales early Black Friday morning.
Meanwhile, the Empire Mall is trying something new this year. Some of their stores are opening before all the rest.
Yonkers, JCPenney's, Sears, Bath and Body Works, Aeropostale, and Old Navy will allow shoppers in at 4 a.m. That means the mall entrances will open for early birds at 3:30 a.m. The rest of the stores in the mall will open on Black Friday at 5 a.m.
It's an early start these stores are hoping will help their bottom line and your wallet.
