Governor Mike Rounds is urging motorists to make safety a priority as they travel this Thanksgiving holiday.

Rounds says it is more important to get to a Thanksgiving dinner safely than quickly. More than 100 people have died on South Dakota roads already this year.

Five people died in South Dakota accidents last year during the Thanksgiving holiday period. Rounds says 81 other motorists were injured.
