Authorities say one of Tulsa, Oklahoma's most wanted was on the run for months, staying at shelters in multiple states including multiple shelters in South Dakota before Huron police finally put an end to it.

They arrested 30-year-old Jerri Lynn Goff of Tulsa after she used different social security numbers and names in Beadle County. She also went from doctor to doctor, asking for numerous prescriptions.

Goff was staying at a Huron shelter when suspicious activity brought her unwanted attention. She was applying for services in Beadle County and using multiple social security numbers and dates of birth.

"The police followed up on it and found that she was wanted," Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore said.

They quickly arrested Goff and Moore says if another day had gone by, there's a good chance she would have skipped town.

When Goff had gone from doctor to doctor for multiple pain medication prescriptions, they sent out an alert about her. She still had a prescription left when police arrested her. Had she tried to fill that, she would have been denied.

"That would have alerted her to the fact that we're on to her and she would have probably moved on," Moore said.

Before staying about a week in Huron, Goff spent time in Brandon and Brookings and other states before that.

"From Utah to Nebraska to South Dakota," Moore said.

Authorities have dropped charges she faces in Beadle County given her wanted status elsewhere, where some authorities have been waiting more than 18 months for this arrest.  There are warrants for Goff's arrest in Tulsa and in Carroll County, Arkansas. Those warrants involve drug and bad check charges.

Goff had her two-year-old daughter with her, even though she does not have custody of the girl. Social services is working to get the girl back to her father.
