Authorities in Mitchell continue to investigate a range fire that happened before 10 p.m. Tuesday in rural-wester Hanson County.

Alexandria Rural Fire District and the Hanson County Sheriff's Office responded.

Further investigation revealed a car that had been consumed by fire within the burn area, according to a news release.

Officials say the nature of the fire appears to be suspicious and investigation into the incident continues.
