The Brown County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a rural Groton boy.

Chief Deputy Tom Schmitt says the cause of death, which involves a tool, appears to be accidental.

With an ongoing investigation, Schmitt says he can’t release further details until Friday. But he says the boy was between three and four years old.
