A Hartford man is behind bars, charged with multiple counts of child rape and criminal pedophilia.

Forty-eight-year-old John Elliotivan Kennedy was indicted by a grand jury last Wednesday. He is currently being held in the Minnehaha County jail, charged with eleven counts of rape, ranging from first to third degree and three counts of criminal pedophilia.

According to court papers, Kennedy knew his two victims who were just seven and eight years old in 1994 when the events began. The rapes allegedly continued until the two girls were 14 and 15 years old. The victims told investigators it happened between once a week, and up to two or three times each week.
