The former city finance officer in the northeast South Dakota town of Frankfort has acknowledged that she embezzled money from the town.

Rita Hunt pleaded guilty to grand theft.

The Spink County state's attorney said Hunt stole $50,000 and $60,000 from the city and the community center.

The maximum punishment is 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, and part of the sentence will include restitution.
