Storms Knock Out Power In Southeast SD

Thunderstorms brought hail and high winds to southeastern South Dakota overnight.

Police in Beresford say a number a power lines were knocked down, and officials were working to restore electricity in some areas. Temporary power outages also were reported in Mitchell.

Vehicles and windows in Alexandria suffered damage from hail that the Hanson County sheriff's office says was larger than golf balls. Tree damage was reported in several communities.
