The woman considered to be South Dakota's oldest resident marked another birthday.

Beryl Kaupan turned 110 on Thursday. She lives at the Golden Living Center in Salem.

She has lived in three centuries and was born the same year that a patent was issued for the paper clip.  Kaupan grew up on a farm east of Humboldt. She never married and lived on her own until five years ago.
