A 40-year-old Fort Thompson man will serve the maximum 15 years in prison for killing his younger half brother.
Torin Forrest Crowe earlier pleaded guilty in federal court in Pierre to voluntary manslaughter for the March 2008 slaying of 24-year-old Dustin Crowe east of Fort Thompson.
Prosecutors say that during a fight, Torin Crowe stabbed Dustin Crowe and cut his throat.
Torin Crowe must also pay more than $4,200 in restitution.
