A Scottsbluff beer distributorship will be the target of a protest for selling beer in a Nebraska town that borders a dry South Dakota American Indian reservation.
The owner of High Plains Budweiser, Jeff Scheinost, says his agreement with Anheuser- Busch requires him to sell his product to the four Whiteclay, Nebraska liquor outlets, as long as they are in good standing with the state.
Indian activist Frank LaMere says the protest is set for Thursday and is intended to highlight "the broader economic collusion" that enables liquor stores in Whiteclay to operate.
