If you had your radio on this morning on the way to work, you may have noticed it sounded different than what you're used to hearing during your normal commute. On-air personalities from KTWB and KELO FM hit the airwaves yesterday asking for your help...and thanks to you the listener, thousand of dollars have already been raised.

You're calling and making a huge difference. All the money raised through the Children's Miracle Network Broadcast stays local... to help kids at Sanford Children's Hospital and their families.

Doc Murphy with 101.9, KTWB has been taking your calls and your pledges all day. It's a radiothon he feels a strong connection to.

“Cause we've met the kids. And that really changes your whole perspective. I think it's one thing to sit and you listen to their stories, but once you meet these children and you meet the families and you talk to mom and dad and you see what they're going through - how can you not be involved?, Murphy said.

Radio personalities at both KTWB and KELO FM will take your calls until 6 Thursday night, as well as Friday from 6am to 6pm. And some people phoning in have already made a difference.

“We put the call out for so many people to sort of pool their donations so we can buy this one item and what we've noticed over the past couple of years is we'll do that, it's successful and they get involved and they're willing to purchase that item. But almost inevitably, somebody calls and says you know what, I just want to take care of the whole thing,” Murphy said.
